A Message From Dr. Smith:
"I was born in Cherokee, Oklahoma, and was raised with three brothers on
a farm in Jet, Oklahoma. Always surrounded by animals, I knew at an early age I wanted to be a veterinarian. After graduating from Jet High School,
I attended Northwestern State University in Alva for two years and entered OSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1966, graduating with the Class
of 1970."
"My first job as a veterinarian was at Highland Park Animal Hospital for two years. Two other veterinarians and I formed a partnership and started Veterinary Associates in 1974 to present. Other than my family, my proudest accomplishment is Veterinary Associates. We are currently a practice of
five veterinarians and 25 additional staff."
"My wife, Michele, and I were married in 1968. We have two beautiful daughters, Shelli and Shannon. I enjoyed being involved with my daughters in coaching youth soccer and tennis. I was instrumental in starting Union Public School’s Junior High tennis program in 1988. We have been blessed with four awesome grandchildren – Mitchell, McKenzie, Chase, and Cal.
It brings me great joy seeing the world through the eyes of my grandchildren and spending time with them."
"I enjoy tennis, jogging, OSU athletics, and spending time on my farm in western Oklahoma."
