A Message From Dr. Kunzweiler:
"I have had the good fortune to be able to do exactly what I have always wanted to do with my life-be a small animal veterinarian.
In 1987 I graduated from the University of Missouri's College of Veterinary Medicine. My first employment was in Hampton,
Virginia, just outside colonial Williamsburg, where I worked in an active small animal hospital for two years.
In the summer of 1989 I came to Oklahoma with my husband Steve. We have been blessed with three wonderful daughters,
Sandra age 16, Jennifer age 14, and Jaqueline age 6. We live on four acres where we can care for our dogs, cats, pony, and horse."
"Throughout my nineteen years as a veterinarian, I have found I like all aspects of practice. For four years,
I worked at the Animal Emergency Center where I developed my practice skills in critical situations. I enjoyed
handling the many challenging medical and surgical cases I saw there, however, I missed the simple day-to-day
conversations that you take for granted when you know your clients. I returned to "regular" practice where I
can have fun catching up with a client during a vaccination, or if needed, I can rush into emergency surgery.
Recently, I became a member of the Oklahoma Veterinary Legislative Committee. Through this organization, I
try to initiate laws, which can benefit pets and their owners."
"Besides my family, my proudest accomplishment was becoming a partner at Veterinary Associates in
August 2001. We consider ourselves a family here, and I look forward with great joy to being with
such a wonderful group of people until the day I retire. Being a veterinarian is not just about caring
for small animals, but getting to know the pet owner and understanding how important their pet is in their life.
I would like to get a chance to meet you and your pet or further our relationship already formed. Please feel
welcome to stop by and say "hello" at any time."
